Pope Benedict thanks executive producer, Christopher Holder, for his work in making possible the film: Sindone - Passio Christ Passio Hominis. The film was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Turin for Performance Films to commemorate the Public Exposition of the Shroud of Turin held between April 10th and May 23rd 2010. Approximately two million visitors made the pilgrimage. Monsignor Giuseppe Ghiberti, who commissioned the film is also pictured. The producer/director was British Academy Award winner David Rolfe and the writer, Ian Wilson. His book, published simultaneously, will be out in paperback February 2011. Consultants to the film were Prof. Bruno Barberis, President - International Centre for Sindonology of Turin and Gian Maria Zaccone, Scientific Director of the Centre. Title music was composed by Mike Sheppard and it will feature in his new album The Soul Rests Eternal recorded by the English Chamber Orchestra and cello soloist Caroline Dale. The film was distributed widely in Italy by SanPaulo MultiMedia in Italian and will be released as part of a special compilation DVD in English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Russian and Portuguese in the UK later this year.
